Impact Vision Reflection

Growing up in Kent, a community rich in diversity but often lacking in resources, shaped my perspective on the importance of education and access. As someone who has struggled with dyslexia, I understand firsthand how challenging learning can be when support systems and resources are limited. These experiences instilled in me resilience, adaptability, and a deep commitment to ensuring others don’t face similar barriers to success.

I am passionate about creating opportunities for underrepresented communities in career development and technology—fields that can feel out of reach without proper access and mentorship. As a lead instructor and mentor, I’ve seen how education and skill-building can transform lives. I aim to expand this impact by contributing to programs bridging training and opportunity gaps. Whether it’s guiding young learners toward coding skills, mentoring career-changers, or helping organizations strengthen their DEI initiatives, I want to foster individual growth while driving systemic change.

To begin making this impact, I’m taking tangible steps:

  • Developing Skills: I am refining my program design, communication, and training expertise through my Master’s program and professional projects.

  • Mentorship: Volunteering as a mentor allows me to provide guidance and encouragement to individuals facing barriers to advancement.

  • Community Engagement: I am partnering with local organizations to host workshops on essential career skills, such as resume building and digital literacy.

  • Advocacy: By sharing stories on my blog and social platforms, I am amplifying the need for equitable access to education and career pathways.

By leveraging my personal experiences and values, I hope to create spaces where diverse perspectives thrive and empower others to overcome challenges and achieve their potential.
